ISO 9001 Certification Service

The ISO 9001 standard is revised by its publisher (the International Organization for Standardization "ISO") approximately every 7 - 9 years. The current version was published on September 23, 2015; it is called ISO 9001:2015. Here is a summary of the changes in the new ISO 9001:2015 standard compared to the ISO 2008 version:
New Structure
The purpose is to simplify the integration of ISO 9001 with other standards (for example, ISO 14001). The new framework leads to a new structure of the ISO 9001 standard. The new structure of ISO 9001:2015 requirements:
Section 4: Context of the organization
Section 5: Leadership
Section 6: Planning
Section 7: Support
Section 8: Operation
Section 9: Performance evaluation
Section 10: Improvement
Sections 1-3 remain introductory and explanatory sections (scope, normative references, terms and definitions).

ISO 9001:2015 Revision:

Each revision of the ISO 9001 standard may introduce new or modified requirements and/or a different structure of the standard; sometimes only the wording is updated for the sake of clarity. Previous ISO 9001 versions are: the first revision in 1994, ISO 9001:1994, also included ISO 9002 and ISO 9003 (these were variations of ISO 9001 for different industries), the "big" revision in 2000 (ISO 9001:2000), and the minor revision in 2008 (ISO 9001:2008). All of these prior versions are obsolete and certifications are no longer valid. Certifications to ISO 9001:2008 expired in September 2018.
Business has changed radically since the last major revision in 2015; technology has changed how we work, geographical boundaries are almost insignificant in today’s global economy, supply chains are increasingly complex and the information available has multiplied exponentially.
One thing remains constant, to be successful, businesses have to adapt to meet the growing needs of customers. ISO was originally written with the customer in mind and that remains the priority for ISO 9001:2015.

What is ISO 9001:2015?

ISO 9001 is defined as the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It is the most popular standard in the ISO 9000 series and the only standard in the series to which organizations can certify. ISO 9001 was first published in 1987 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an international agency composed of the national standards bodies of more than 160 countries. The current version of ISO 9001 was released in September 2015.

Who should use the ISO 9001:2015 revision?

While no company needs a certification to operate, many companies will find significantly greater success if they are certified. The ISO 9001 is applicable in both production and service industries. Quality management can be very useful in manufacturing and customer-based companies.
QMS applies to any organization, regardless of size or industry. More than one million organizations from more than 160 countries have applied the ISO 9001 standard requirements to their quality management systems.
Organizations of all types and sizes find that using the ISO 9001 standard helps them:
• Organize processes
• Improve the efficiency of processes
• Continually improve
All organizations that use ISO 9001 are encouraged to transition to ISO 9001:2015 as soon as possible. This includes not only organizations that are certified to ISO 9001:2008, but also any organizations involved in training or certifying others.
Organizations have a three-year transition period (before September 2018) to align their quality management system with the new standard.
