Lifts, escalators and moving walks, after installation, shall be inspected and tested by the DIFE authorized company (IQCert International Ltd) before these are put into normal services. These shall not be brought into use unless the IQCert International Ltd (Authorized Inspector) is satisfied that the installations have been carried out as per provisions of this Code and tests indicate that all the safety devices operate satisfactorily. It shall be unlawful to operate any lift, escalator or moving walk without a current certificate of inspection issued by the IQCert International Ltd under the authorization by DIFE.
IQCert inspect All electrical lines, control lines and earthing of lift, escalator and moving walk systems and tested to determine whether these have been installed properly to meet the requirements of the machine and as per provisions of DIFE and ASME Regulation.

IQCert International Ltd Tests conducted to assure you that
(a) the motor, brake control equipment and car leveling mechanism function properly,
(b) the door operation is proper and door locking devices function properly,
(c) the car raises and lowers rated load,
(d) the car achieves at least the rated speed,
(e) the lift motor can be overloaded up to a minimum of 10% above the rated capacity,
(f) the safety gear stops the car with the rated load in case of over speed and/or over travel etc.,
(g) the buffers function properly, and
(h) the safety gear operate and keeps operation of the lift suspended in case of the lift car is loaded above its maximum capacity.
Escalator and Moving Walk Inspection By IQCert International Ltd
IQCert International Ltd Inspection of escalators and moving walks to assure you that
(a) the automatic control device functions properly and brings the escalator to a smooth stop in case of
failure of any mechanical parts or electrical power, Lifts, Escalators and Moving Walks Chapter 4

(b) the automatic safety protection for over speed, under speed and direction reversal functions
properly, and (c) Safety devices function properly and stops the escalator or moving walk when anything is caught between the comb plate and the treads or the skirting and the treads. (d) the handrail and steps or tread way travel at exactly the same speed.
IQCert Inspect a lift, escalator or moving walk,
In which repair and/or maintenance work has been carried out shall also be put to the relevant test and inspection. After proper testing & inspection the IQCert International Ltd issue certificate regarding suitability of the lift, escalator or moving walk for normal or regular service. A lift, escalator or moving walk shall be allowed to work only on issuance of this certificate.
IQCert International Ltd inspection the lift, escalator or moving walk periodically & half yearly to ensure safety
When an inspection reveals an unsafe condition and the IQCert International Ltd finds that the unsafe condition endangers human life, the IQCert International Ltd shall cause to be placed on such lift, escalator or moving walk, in a conspicuous place, a notice stating that such conveyance is unsafe. The owner shall see to it that such notice of unsafe condition is legibly maintained where placed by the IQCert International Ltd . The IQCert International Ltd shall also issue an order in writing to the owner requiring the repairs or alterations to be made to such conveyance which are necessary to render it safe and may order the operation thereof discontinued until the repairs or alterations are made or the unsafe conditions are removed. A posted notice of unsafe conditions shall be removed only by the IQCert International Ltd and when satisfied that the unsafe conditions have been corrected.
